Last time we made Green smoothie with avocado, and Strawberry buttermilk shake. And yesterday we decided to make yogurt based very berry smoothie.
Both black&blue berries are in season now. If I was back in Poland we would be heading for berry picking in the forest, but since we are in Dublin, I just headed to my local Tesco and surprise, surprise I came across Polish blueberries :) They had a lovely colour already but when we added blackberries -omg- fell in love with this deep, dark velvety purple tint.
By the way I learned this cool trick with half-frozen bananas - when added to the smoothie they give it a wonderful, creamy texture and extra sweetness.
This smoothie is just fruits, yoghurt and orange juice - low-cal, rich in vitamins and antioxidants, very healthy and filling. If you prefer it less thicker just add some more orange juice or milk (if you prefer) for the desired consistency.
After consumption acting like a kid is recommended, you can fool around in front of a mirror and guess whose tongue is more black :)
for 2 glasses:
- 500g blackberries and blueberries
- 2 half-frozen bananas
- 50 ml thick Greek yoghurt
- 50 ml orange juice
- 2 tbs honey
- few mint leaves for decoration
Place berries (leave one or two blueberries for decoration) with bananas, along with juice, and honey in a blender or food processor and mix well. Add this to the Greek yoghurt, give it another quick mix. Serve in glasses decorated with blueberries and mint leaves.
