Back from night shift - way too much work this week. Tired but can not sleep during the day. Prepared white mulled whine, it was supposed to be for the evening. Took out the lights - I love photographing drinks - they are like super models in food photography always turn out beautiful.

Not sure if it is a good idea to mix cider with white wine, feeling a bit dizzy right now - but  it tastes delicious. Had just two cups-sooo warmed me up, cause it is really freezing today in Dublin. You get the kick, oranges, lemons, vanilla and cinnamon bring beautiful aroma- smells like Christmas already. So happy cause in a month time I will be going back home for Christmas and New Year - for whole 2 weeks - festive time with family and boyfriend....Can not wait! And you do you feel Christmas spirit already? Don't forget to check out festive recipes starting next Monday.

I am gonna have one last glass of this drink (sure :) and watch last episode of Dextor, season 1. Anyone else hooked on this series? I absolutely love it! Cheers guys!

White mulled wine

For 6 mugs

  • 500ml bottle light cider
  • 150ml elderflower cordial
  • zest 2 lemons
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 4-5 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 orange

Place wine, cider, cordial, lemon zest, cinnamon sticks, juice of 1/2 orange and inside of vanilla stick into a pot and heat until steaming, not boiling. Ladle into mugs or glasses to serve, while you keep the rest warm on a low heat. Decorate with pieces of orange (cut from another half).
