Max Gerson used porridge with grated apple for his cancer patients, and it played important part in healing process. Porridge is now becoming a staple in many people's diets, which is wonderful. We can never get tired of it, it is simple, quick to prepare and delicious - and no cooking is required!

If you are detoxing with us, do share your experience and leave a comment below! We present you another documentary about Gerson's Diet: "Dying to have known", let us know what you think!

And now few porridge facts:

  • of all the cereals porridge has the highest protein content,
  • provides you with enough energy for the first half of the day,
  • stabilises blood sugar levels,
  • oats are gentle on the stomach,
  • eating porridge helps the brain to produce serotonin.

I know it's breakfast post but we have to mention as well few facts about coffee enema :), which speeds up detoxification and is important part of Gerson Protocol. The caffeine in coffee enema stimulates bile production to excrete toxins more rapidly and helps out to clean our liver. Coffee is made by adding 3 tablespoons of drip-grind (organic) coffee to one liter boiling water. After boiling uncovered for three minutes, the mixture is covered and simmered for fifteen more minutes. It is then strained and allowed to cool to body temperature. Some water can be added and this will be enough for 2, 3 enemas. Here are 2 short videos: How to make and How to take coffee enemas.

So for tomorrow (and rest of the week) our detox plan goes more or less like this:

8:00 Breakfast: We start with coffee enema, than we drink freshly squeezed orange juice and eat the porridge.

11:30 Carrot or green leaf juice

13:00 Lunch: Another juice and some Hippocrates Soup

16:00 Dinner: Juice and cooked meal- recipes coming every day next week, stay tuned.

19:00 Supper: Juice and fresh fruits.

Will try to prepare some healthy alternative desserts too, cause one should never feel deprived when detoxing :)
